I just don't know anymore

Both of Briley's femurs are fractured and we lost the best mother/mom-in-law/nana that anyone could ever ask for. Briley is being transported to Cooks. Alicia is with her. I am with Bryson at the Seymour hospital. He seems to be fine other than a pretty good bump to the head. They are keeping him overnight for observation. I don't know what or how we can function without Gloria. What do we tell the kids? Unfortunately, Briley and Bryson know. Alicia witnesses the wreck and my heart hurts for her, Jess, Nathan, and Glenn. I am deeply sadden. I couldn't have asked for a better mom-in-law. As a EMT-I, this call is the one that we all hope to never have to go on. I knew who was involved before we left in the ambulance. I don't know if I can continue. Time will tell, but that's among the least of my worries.

  1. John, we are going to pray y'all through this and love y'all through this. "I'm sorry" seems so small, but I don't know what else to say. Thank you for your heartfelt words in this post. I will help in any way at all, as will countless others, but I realize figuring out anything that might possibly be any help is going to be difficult. Much love and prayers ~

  6. John, you and your family are.going thru a terrible ordeal right now. And it is so much harder because you and Bryson are here and Alicia and Briley are at cooks. As Lynann said we are going to pray and love you thru this. Don't give up on your EMT-I yet. You are an awesome one! It is the dreaded call that at one time or another we all get. Your hospital family loves you and we are here for whatever you need.

  9. I pray for you and your family to overcome this tragic event. As being an EMT-I myself, I dread the day I will roll up on a scene with family members. Just remember, you do this because you care and have compassion for other people. Some one was there for you through this, someday you will be there for someone else and that compassion you share will never be forgotten. Don't give up on what you do, there are not enough of us out there that can handle what we do. My prayers are with you.
